Basic ECG training in children & young adults
Description of training
CGs in children are performed for a variety of reasons, including:
1. Screening: Pediatric ECGs are often done as part of the health assessment of newborns and infants to detect possible congenital heart disease.
2. Symptoms: ECGs are also performed in children who exhibit symptoms such as palpitations, fainting, shortness of breath or chest pain.
3. Medical conditions: Children with known heart disease or other medical conditions may require regular ECGs to monitor their heart function.
Interpreting ECG made in children requires specific knowledge and skills because of the anatomical and physiological differences between children and adults. During the webinar, these differences will be discussed.
